The new Silverado 2500 HD has a 6.6L V8 gas engine that delivers 401 horsepower at 5200 rpm and 464 lb.-ft. of torque at 4000 rpm. This engine is paired with an Allison 10-speed automatic transmission. For increased power, there’s an available 6.6L Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine that offers 470 horsepower and 975 lb.-ft. of torque.
Capabilities
When you choose the available 6.6L Duramax engine, your Silverado 2500 has a maximum towing capacity of up to 22,500 pounds. The Silverado comes with a Trailering Package that includes a trailer hitch, trailering hitch platform, 2.5-inch receiver hitch, 4-pin and 7-pin connectors, and a 7-wire electrical harness. The Hitch Guidance function gives you a detailed view of your hitch and trailer for aligning the two perfectly.
Safety
The Silverado 2500 HD comes with a variety of assistive driving functions that can reduce the risk of accidents. This includes Front Pedestrian Braking, which alerts you to pedestrians or cyclists in your path. If you fail to apply the brakes, your Automatic Emergency Braking kicks in and activates the brakes for you.
StabiliTrak electronic stability control is also included in your new Silverado 2500 HD.
